Learning Intentions

 Revise the parts of speech I already know.

(nouns, pronouns, adjectives, verbs, conjunctions and prepositions.)

and identify them in a piece of writing.

Introduction

What is a verb? 
Verbs are ‘doing words’ which can describe the past present or future.

What is a noun?

Nouns are the names given to particular people, places and dates (proper nouns) or things ( common nouns).

Copy these sentences into you literacy book. Underline the verbs in red and nouns in black.

I watched an interesting programme with my brother.

I will invite my friend to my birthday party.

You said that the game ‘snakes and ladders’ was played in Egypt thousands of years ago.
