Learning Intention

To develop knowledge of the alphabet through simple games.

To use a simple dictionary to investigate words from their spelling list.

To use ordinal numbers first, second, third etc…to describe how words are organised.

Introduction

What is the first letter of the alphabet?

Let’s say the alphabet together

If you know the order of letters in the alphabet, it will help you to find a word in the dictionary.

How many letters in the alphabet?
Where does the letter y come in the alphabet?
