Narrator Once upon a time in Nazareth, there
was a lady called Mary.
One day when Mary was in her garden,
a beautiful angel appeared. The angel
had a very important message for her.
Angel Gabriel Mary, you are going to have a baby.
Narrator The angel told Mary that the baby would
be called Jesus and that he would be the
son of God.
Mary was very pleased. She waited and
waited for the time to come when the
baby would be born.
Many months passed. Then one day
some soldiers came to the village. They
knocked on everyone’s door.
Soldier 1 Wake up, wake up!
Soldier 2 You have to go to Bethlehem to be counted.
Narrator Soon, they came close to Mary’s house.
Soldier 1&2 Wake up, wake up!
Narrator Mary’s husband, Joseph, opened the door.
Soldier 2 You have to go to Bethlehem to be counted.
Narrator Joseph went to tell Mary the good news, then he went
to get her donkey. With Joseph at her side, Mary rode on
the donkey all the way to Bethlehem.

was full of people. They tried to find somewhere to stay.

Joseph knocks at another door.
Joseph Have you got any room?
Innkeeper 2 No, We’re full!
Narrator They looked everywhere, but all the inns were full.
Finally, they arrived at the last inn and they knocked the
door.
Knock, Knock Knock, we’re knocking at the door,
We’ve knocked at a dozen more before.
All we need is a place to stay,
Please Mister Innkeeper, What do you say?
Knock, Knock Knock, is there any room for us?
We really don’t want to make a fuss.
All we need is a place to stay,
Please Mister Innkeeper, What do you say?
Knock, Knock Knock, we’re knocking at the door,
We’ve knocked at a dozen more before.
All we need is a place to stay,
Please Mister Innkeeper, What do you say?
Joseph Have you got any room?
Innkeeper 3 Sorry, no we’re full
Narrator Mary was feeling very tired She spoke to the innkeeper
Mary Please, please can you help?
Narrator The innkeeper felt sorry for Mary. He thought for a while
and then he had an idea.
Innkeeper 3 You can rest in the stable.
Narrator The innkeeper was very kind. He took Mary and Joseph
to the stable. That night, Jesus was born. Mary wrapped the baby in a cloth and laid in a manger. The innkeeper brought some food and drink for Mary and Joseph.
Narrator Some shepherds were in the fields nearby. It was getting late and a bit cold, so they snuggled up around the fire.
Shepherd 1 I’m freezing.
Shepherd 2 Get that fire going.
Shepherd 3 Another day looking after the sheep.
Shepherd 1&2 It’s always the same.
Shepherd 2&5 I’m bored.

The shepherds were getting sleepy, but just as they were dozing off a bright light appeared in the sky. Some angels hovered above them.
Alleluia Alleluia
Hosanna in the highest!
A king has been born tonight.
His name is Jesus.
You will find him in a stable in Bethlehem.
Go and visit him. Alleluia, Alleluia
Song 5 An angel appeared in the sky.
An angel appeared in the sky,
Spreading her wings, spreading her wings.
An angel appeared in the sky, spreading her wings.
She spoke in a beautiful voice,
Loudly and clear, loudly and clear.
She spoke in a beautiful voice, loudly and clear.
She told all the shepherds below,
Jesus is born, Jesus is born.
She told all the shepherds below, Jesus is born.
Instrumental

An angel appeared in the sky, spreading her wings.
The shepherds gathered their belongings and made their way to find the new King.
Soon they arrived in Bethlehem.
Are we there yet?
Is this the stable the angels were talking about?
Should we go and ask?
Can we come in?
Aw, doesn’t he look sweet!
Do you think the baby Jesus would like my little lamb?
Meanwhile, three kings had saw a very bright star in the east. They knew that the star was a special sign and that a powerful king had been born. They decided to go to the palace and speak to King Herod.
King Herod, have you heard the news about the new king?
Yes, I have, and I would love to meet him.
King Herod was troubled by the news of a new king. He thought this new king might take away his throne.
(Sneakly) You must find the new king and bring him to me, so that I may worship him myself.
Lets’ go and find the new king.
I will saddle the camels.
The kings ride their camels all the way to Bethlehem.
Three kings were riding, riding on their camels,
They had travelled far.
Three kings were riding, riding on their camels,
Following a great big star, following a great big star.
Three kings were riding, through the dusty desert.
Three wise men were they,
Three kings were riding, through the dusty desert,
With a star to guide their way, with a star to guide their way.
Instrumental

When the kings got to Bethlehem, they saw the star in the sky above a stable.
Praise be to the king!
The kings gave the baby Jesus some gifts.
I bring gold for the baby Jesus.
I bring frankincense for the baby Jesus.
I bring myrrh for the baby Jesus.
The kings agreed that the baby Jesus was truly the king of the world.
I don’t trust king Herod.
Maybe we shouldn’t bring the baby Jesus to him.
I think you’re right.
All the animals in the stable kept baby Jesus warm.
All was peaceful in the stable that night.
Song 7 Baby sleeping.
Baby sleeping, sleeping safe and warm.
Baby sleeping, sleeping till the dawn.
And all of us gather round, to feel the love you bring here tonight.
Quiet and cosy, such a peaceful night.
Quiet and cosy, such a precious sight.
And all of us gather round, to feel the love you bring here tonight.
Baby sleeping, sleeping safe and warm.
Baby sleeping, sleeping till the dawn.
And all of us gather round, to feel the love you bring here tonight.
Let us all celebrate that Jesus, the Son of God is born!
Song 8 Jesus is born.
Ring out the bells, ring out the bells,
Ring out the bells, let’s celebrate, now Jesus is born.
Sing in the streets, sing in the streets,
Sing in the streets, let’s celebrate, now Jesus is born.
Everyone rejoice, everyone rejoice,
Everyone rejoice, let’s celebrate, now Jesus is born.
Ring out the bells, ring out the bells,
