Use the bar gate when tallying

To know that a tally chart is a simple way to record information.

To practise drawing simple tally charts.

What do you see in this picture?

Use some pencils to make a similar gate. How many pencils are needed?



  
This chart is called a bar gate tally chart, because it is similar to the gate above.
Notice how the vertical lines are used to quickly count the shoe sizes.

How many size 4?

Look at the frequency table below.

Copy the table using tally marks instead of numbers.
