(Eden)

Long ago there lived a little girl called Mary. Mary was alone in her room one day, when suddenly she heard an angel.

The Angel said to Mary “Peace be with you. God our father has blessed you”.

Mary was very surprised. She wondered what this meant and gazed in amazement at the angel.

(Alfie)

The Angel told Mary not to be afraid. He said that God Our Father had chosen her to be the mother of a special baby. She must name the baby Jesus. He will be the son of God.

When Mary and Joseph heard the news they knew that they would have to prepare for the baby. Mary made some baby clothes and Joseph made a warm cradle.

Soon they were ready to begin their journey to Bethlehem.

(Harry)

Mary and Joseph travelled for many long miles and when they reached Bethlehem they were very tired. Joseph realised they must find some place to sleep. They were very tired and needed to rest.

Joseph went to the nearest inn and knocked the door. He asked the inn keeper if he had any rooms. The innkeeper replied that all his rooms were full. He told them that there were no rooms anywhere in the town. Joseph tried many other inns but they were all full. Joseph did not know what they were going to do.

(Sophie)

Finally one man said to Joseph that he could sleep in the stable behind the house. He told Joseph that it was not very suitable, but it was better than nothing. It was warm and cosy. Joseph was very glad when he heard this.

So Joseph and Mary went to the stable. There were animals in the stable to keep Mary and Joseph warm and cosy. That night baby Jesus was born.

(Callum)

At this time some shepherds were minding their sheep in the hills.

As evening fell, the shepherds settled down for the night.

Suddenly the sheep began to get restless. Just then a bright light shone across the hills. It lit up everything. The shepherds were afraid. Suddenly they heard voices. The shepherds listened. “Do not fear” a voice spoke. “We have good news for you. Today in Bethlehem Jesus the son of God was born, you will find him lying in a manger.”

The shepherds set off for Bethlehem at once. The angels led them to the place where Jesus was born.

Chorus

(Daire)

At that time also there were three wise Kings. Their names were Melchior, Casper and Balthasar. One night they saw a strange bright star in the sky and they knew that this star would lead them to the place where Jesus was born. They set off at once carrying precious gifts for Jesus.

(Darcy)

They followed the bright star until it stopped over the stable where Jesus lay in the crib. The three kings walked in quietly. With their three gifts the three kings offered baby Jesus all the love of their hearts.
