💚“A credit to their school, their community and their province.”💚

Determination, dedication and teamwork led St. Patrick’s Primary School to the All-Ireland Olympic Handball Championships in Limerick, where they represented Ulster. An amazing achievement and a memorable event for all the kids involved, topped off by getting to the semi-final stage of the competition today.

A sincere thank you to all of our sponsors and to the local community for the support shown to the school.

Our sincere thanks to C&D Electrical for sponsoring our Olympic Handball Team. It’s not long now until the team set off for Limerick for the All-Ireland Final. This would not be possible without the support of our sponsors.

EXCITEMENT levels are building at St. Patrick’s Primary School in Portrush as it prepares to compete in the All-Ireland Olympic Handball Final.
Two teams, comprising of both boys and girls, will make the long journey to Limerick on Tuesday (April 23) and will be raring to go the following day as they take to the court to compete on the national stage.
St. Patrick’s represented county Antrim in the Ulster finals in February and now are eagerly awaiting the next stage.
The National Finals, hosted by the University of Limerick, will see St. Patrick’s face opposition from across the island including schools from Cork, Kerry, Roscommon, Galway and Sligo.
Mr Quinn, from St. Patrick’s, explained that with the popularity of the sport growing across Northern Ireland, the children couldn’t wait to get involved.
“We had several taster sessions with Eugene McKenna (Olympic Handball Ireland Development Officer) and the boys and girls loved it!" he said.
“From then, we’ve been playing regularly over the past last couple of years.
“We are incredibly proud of them - it’s great to see them representing the county, province and town of Portrush.”
The children of St. Patrick’s have received exceptional support, well-wishes and sponsorship from the local community, making the trip to Limerick possible.
The school wishes to thank the entire community for the support.

  • Butterflies

    🦋 BUTTERFLIES IN P2 and P3🦋

P2 and P3 are learning about the life cycle of a butterfly this term. They had 5 eggs to begin with, but this week there was much excitement when the butterflies emerged from their chrysalis!

The children observed them as they practised using their wings, before releasing them into the garden. Such a wonderful way to connect to the world around us and feel the magic of creation!🦋

    🕊️Confirmation Day🕊️

It was a very special day for some of our Year 7 pupils as they received the Sacrament of Confirmation at St. Patrick’s Church.

We loved gathering together again as a Parish community to celebrate this important milestone.

Thank you to everyone who made the day so special:
✨Fr Delargy for the beautiful service and his continued guidance.
✨Roisin Doherty for her work within the parish preparing for Sacraments.
✨To all the staff and parents who contributed towards today.
✨To our pupils, who make us so proud today and everyday!

Finally, a special word of thanks to our PTA for decorating the Church so beautifully and for all the work that went into preparing the refreshments in St. Patrick’s Hall afterwards. Thank you for your continued support.

  • Girls Football Blitz

Thu 21 Mar 2024 Mr Dinsmore

😀As you can see, there were lots of happy faces at Rugby Avenue today as our Girls Football Team played brilliantly at a local blitz!😀

Winning 4 games and drawing 1, they were very proud of their efforts on the pitch. Even more pleasing than the results, was the positive attitude the girls displayed towards each other and the opposition in each game. It’s been fantastic to see the continued development of Girls Football at St. Patrick’s, well done everyone!
