Together Everyone Achieves More. Journey to Learning
School Community events 2023/34
Today we have shared another wonderful event with our annual Sports Day. We were so fortunate with regards to the weather, as we were able to run all our events and enjoy a very tasty BBQ without a drop of rain! 🍔
We share our sincere thanks to all who helped with the organisation of the day, supporting our pupils and staff, setting up and assisting with our tuck shop and BBQ lunches, organising and collecting medals, all of which contributed to yet another very enjoyable Sports Day! 🥇
There are a large number of excellent photos and videos available on Facebook 📸
Again thank you to all staff, parents, pupils and volunteers for another brilliant day! ☀️
Excitement is building at St. Patrick’s for The Open coming to Portrush this summer! P5/6 enjoyed an excellent day out to the ‘R&A Road to The Open Trophy Tour’ at Ulster University, Coleraine. The children got the chance to hear about the Claret Jug Trophy and it’s history before taking part in a ‘Golf Festival’ in the Sports Hall.
The class were lucky enough to get a photo taken with the Claret Jug, each child will receive a copy of the photo to take home within the next couple of weeks!
P5/6 had lots of fun and we may even have found our own future golf stars in the class!
The PTA would like to acknowledge Co-operation Ireland Small Capital Grant Programme. We were lucky to secure a grant that enabled us to buy a buddy bench for KS1 pupils to help develop friendships, and purchase netball equipment.
The PTA also secured a Sports Council Grant to the value of £950. This was used to provide 8 sessions of tennis lessons for the whole school and enabled us to buy sports equipment for the school, in order to promote healthy bodies and minds.
In addition to this Danske Bank awarded one of our parents a £500 grants for her efforts in volunteering as a member of our PTA. This will go towards a new whiteboard.
⭐️ Thank you, once again for your excellent work, from all staff.
