          ⭐️Star 3       Good evening everyone.

          Joseph     Welcome to our Christmas

                           Story.

Big Star    It is called Shine Star, Shine.

🤴🏼Wise Man 3   We hope you enjoy it.

Narrator 1   Once upon a time there was a star who stopped shining.  This star had been the biggest, brightest star in the whole sky, but one night, when she tried to sparkle, nothing happened.  She tried and tried and she tried again, but the big star could not shine.

Narrator 2     The next night some angels came to see the Big Star.  They were very excited because they had some very important news.

Angel 1   A baby is going to be born.

Angel 2   In Bethlehem, in a stable.

Angel 3   He will be the Son of God.

Angel 4   His name will be Jesus.

Narrator 3   Then the little stars had more news for the big star.

⭐️ Star 1       You have to shine brightly.

⭐️ Star 2       Very, very brightly!

⭐️Star 4      To show the people the way to the    stable.

⭐️Star 3     Shine Star, shine!

Narrator 4  The big star looked at the little stars.

Big star      But I can’t shine.

STARS        Yes you can!

Big star      No I can’t!

STARS        Yes you can.  Shine star shine!

Narrator 5   The big star tried and tried and tried, but she could not shine.

Narrator 6   Meanwhile in the town of Bethlehem, Mary and Joseph had travelled a long way and were very very tired.

Joseph    Mary I have found us a stable.  We can rest there tonight.

Mary       Thank you Joseph.

Narrator 7    Mary and Joseph settled into the stable.  Later that night Mary had her baby.  He was God's son and he would be called Jesus.

Narrator 8  That night on the hills above Bethlehem, some shepherds were looking after their sheep. Suddenly some angels appeared in the sky. The angels spoke to the shepherds.

😇 Angel 1   Mary’s baby has been born.

😇 Angel 2   You must go to Bethlehem and see the new King.

😇 Angel 3   His name is Jesus.

😇 Angel 4   You will find him in a stable.

Narrator 9   The shepherds were amazed to see the angels. They were very excited because they knew that the baby must be very special.

🐑 Shepherd 1       Isn’t this exciting?

🐑 Shepherd 2      Let’s go quickly.

🐑 Shepherd 3      Yes, let’s go and see the baby!

Narrator 10   In great excitement, the shepherds started to walk over the hills towards Bethlehem. It was hard to hurry because it was very, very dark.

Too Dark! (Vocal).mp3

Too Dark! (Instrumental).mp3

Too Dark

1.  We're going to Bethlehem in the dark,

In the dark, in the dark.                              Shepherd 2

We're going to Bethlehem in the dark,

And it's too dark to see.

We're hurrying, hurrying in the dark,

In the dark, in the dark.                              Shepherd 1

We're hurrying, hurrying in the dark,

And it's too dark to see.

We're tripping up, tripping up in the dark,

In the dark, in the dark.                              Shepherd 3

We're tripping up, tripping up in the dark,

And it's too dark to see.

We're stumbling, stumbling in the dark,

In the dark, in the dark.                              Everyone

We're stumbling, stumbling in the dark,

And it's too dark to see.

We're going to Bethlehem in the dark,

In the dark, in the dark.                               Everyone

We're going to Bethlehem in the dark,

And it's too dark to see.

Narrator 11 Way up above, high in the sky, the smaller stars watched the shepherds as they stumbled in the dark. They knew that the big star could help and they called loudly to him.

Stars         Shine star, shine!

Narrator 12   The big star tried and tried and tried, but she could not shine.

Far away in the East, three wise men were travelling to Bethlehem to see the baby Jesus. They were sure that there had been a big, bright star in the sky, but now it was nowhere to be seen.

🤴🏽 Wise Man 1        Where is that star?

🤴 Wise Man 2       I don’t know!

🤴🏼 Wise Man 3       It was here last night

                    This journey is so low,

 CHORUS     Hey Star,

Why don't you show us the way to go?

2.                 On and on and into the night

    Wise         Riding to and fro,

man 2       All we want is a bit of light,

So we would like to know,

  CHORUS    Hey Star,

Why don't you show us the way to go?

3.                 INSTRUMENTAL

                    This journey is so low,

  CHORUS     Hey Star,

Why don't you show us the way to go?

Narrator 13    Way up above in the sky, the other stars watched as the wise men rode on their camels. They called loudly again to the big star.

Stars           Shine star shine!

Narrator 14    The big star tried and tried and tried but she could not shine.

The other stars didn’t know what to do! So they sang the Big Star a song to see if that would help.

Narrator 15       The big star still could not shine. The little stars thought for a while, then suddenly they had an idea!

The little stars led the big star through the sky to the stable in Bethlehem.

Narrator 16    Looking into the stable, the big star saw Mary and Joseph and a beautiful baby. As she watched, she could feel that the baby Jesus loved her, that the baby Jesus loved all the stars and all the angels and all the people in the whole world.

Narrator 17    The big star began to shine. She shone and shone, brighter and brighter and floated up into the sky above the stable.

Big Star   Now everyone will be able to see my light.  They can follow me to the stable and come to visit this very special baby.

Narrator 18   The Big Star's light could be seen for miles and miles. The stable glowed in the starlight and the baby Jesus slept peacefully in the manger.

Narrator 19  Then the wise men arrived and gave the baby Jesus some lovely gifts.

🤴🏽Wise Man 1  I bring you gold.

🤴🏽Wise Man 2  I bring you myrrh.

🤴🏼Wise Man 3  I bring you frankincense.
