Our sincere thanks to C&D Electrical for sponsoring our Olympic Handball Team. It’s not long now until the team set off for Limerick for the All-Ireland Final. This would not be possible without the support of our sponsors.

Thanks to Fintan for calling down to present the cheque to a few of our star players!

EXCITEMENT levels are building at St. Patrick’s Primary School in Portrush as it prepares to compete in the All-Ireland Olympic Handball Final.
Two teams, comprising of both boys and girls, will make the long journey to Limerick on Tuesday (April 23) and will be raring to go the following day as they take to the court to compete on the national stage.
St. Patrick’s represented county Antrim in the Ulster finals in February and now are eagerly awaiting the next stage.
The National Finals, hosted by the University of Limerick, will see St. Patrick’s face opposition from across the island including schools from Cork, Kerry, Roscommon, Galway and Sligo.
Mr Quinn, from St. Patrick’s, explained that with the popularity of the sport growing across Northern Ireland, the children couldn’t wait to get involved.
“We had several taster sessions with Eugene McKenna (Olympic Handball Ireland Development Officer) and the boys and girls loved it!" he said.
“From then, we’ve been playing regularly over the past last couple of years.
“We are incredibly proud of them - it’s great to see them representing the county, province and town of Portrush.”
The children of St. Patrick’s have received exceptional support, well-wishes and sponsorship from the local community, making the trip to Limerick possible.
The school wishes to thank the entire community for the support.
